All independent bands are invited to send in music submissions for the 10KLF
Cosmic Break Competition and be one of three lucky bands to land a
festival performance slot. Thirty bands out of the qualified entries received
will be selected to participate in the Cosmic Break Competition and be placed
into the 10KLF Cosmic Break Voting Booth online at the festival website.
Three bands will be named Cosmic Break winners and perform at this summer’s
10,000 Lakes Festival. The winners will be chosen based on the number of votes
received in the online Voting Booth and the opinions of our industry professionals.
Complete competition rules, submission information, deadlines and details are
online.
The Cosmic Break competition is sponsored by Onlinegigs.com
giving musicians and managers a convenient, online music industry directory
solution to take control of their music careers. Each band that applies for
the Cosmic Break receives a free six month Onlinegigs.com subscription and the
three Cosmic Break winners a free full year. JamBase.com is also a sponsor of the Cosmic Break competition.
The event ticket price includes all band performances and camping under the
stars adjacent to the most beautiful outdoor concert venue in the nation. The
10,000 Lakes Festival held at the 600-acre Soo Pass Ranch in beautiful Northern
Minnesota contains numerous campgrounds, built specifically for people to enjoy
their camping experience in a spacious, friendly and comfortable setting.
Festival-goers can relax in beautiful Lake Sallie Campground with over 3,000
feet of shoreline or settle into the magnificent forest of the Northwoods campground.
VIP Camping is located directly behind the Main Stage. The campgrounds are well
groomed with permanent roads and real showers and are suitable for virtually
any kind of camping vehicle. Every campground is within easy walking distance
of the concert site.
Modern amenities on site include clean, permanent restrooms facilities with
running water; additionally, internet access and a wide variety of high quality
food and beverages will be available.
Continuing the festival’s commitment to community, the 10,000 Lakes Festival
is partnering with Conscious
Alliance, a non-profit group which organizes food drives nationally at concerts
and music festivals to benefit impoverished Indian Reservations across the greater
western United States. Festival patrons are encouraged to contribute non-perishable
food items at the event; those who donate 10 or more canned goods will receive
a free, limited-edition 10,000 Lakes Festival poster. Collection bins will be
located just outside the festival field entrance.
In addition to the canned food drive, the 10,000 Lakes Festival will contribute
a portion of each ticket sold to benefit the Rex
Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organization established in 1983 by
friends and members of the Grateful Dead. The Rex Foundation proactively provides
extensive community support to creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and
education and has furnished over $7 million in grants to hundreds of organizations
since 1984.
