THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND is set to headline the FAT CITY SOIREE, a CAMPING and music event in New Orleans during the second week of Jazz Fest, April 29th - May 1. Showtime is 9:00 pm. The Original DEEP BANANA BLACKOUT will Top Saturday Night billing at 9:00 pm. Friday evening begins with a collection of musicians labeled, "The Frenchman Street Delegation." Consisting of Frenchman streets' blues and jazz players and Papa Mali with Special Guest ANDERS OSBORNE sitting in the last hour. Saturday evening has NATHAN WILLIAMS and THE ZYDECO CHA CHAS opening at 6:00 pm. Sunday is a free admission happy hour with a CRAWFISH BOIL and THE LOST BAYOU RAMBLERS from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A crafts fair is open to the public free of admission.

The event, FAT CITY SOIREE, brings CAMPING to New Orleans during the second week of Jazz Fest. It is the first such event. In the works for several years, bringing camping to New Orleans with the jambands that are in town is a welcome addition to the New Orleans music experience during Jazz Fest. Camping is on beautiful Scout Island, centered in New Orleans City Park. Having a remote setting within the city of New Orleans is truly unique. The Fat City Soiree is reaching out to the fans of Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio and Dave Mathews. They are most welcome.
