STS9 GOES ACOUSTIC FOR SUMMER TOUR

STS9 spokesman today announced plans for a 17-show acoustic tour. Dubbed, "String Tribe Sector 9" the tour will run the length of the east coast starting in Atlanta in June and ending in Maine later that month. "String Tribe 9" is intended to strip away the layers of electronics and effects that have helped to propel STS9 to the top of the jam world and return them to their more natural musical roots.

Drummer Zach Velmer says, "Few people know that STS9 was originally an acoustic trio that focused on pre-industrial Appalachian folk music. We just played this amazing show at the Winter Music Conference (the premiere electronica music festival in Miami Florida) and the band came to a realization that we needed to return to our original intention of being modern folk troubadours."

It is not clear as of press time what material this newly formatted Sound Tribe intends to cover. Sources close to the band say that Velmer is reportedly hitting the road with a stripped down kit that includes a wash board, cow bell, and a set of car keys on a coat hanger.
