Jamie Janover is set to play a very special engagement Tuesday, March 22nd in San Francisco at the 12 Galaxies in San Francisco. Janover, who has been creating quite a wake over the past few years by his unbelievable skill behind the hammered dulcimer and just about every other form of percussion known to man, will be joined on stage for a full night of improvisational music with the legendary Michael Manring on bass, Jagiit Chadha on tabla and one of the Bay area's most sought after guitarist, Dan Lebowitz from the ALO.
Janover is no stranger to the 12 Galaxies, as he has had several impressive stints there in the past months both as the conductor with the Everyone Orchestra, as well as a previous Jamie Janover and Friends show. His signature organic trance style has won over musicians and fans alike as his sound progresses with each set of musicians he plays with. This will mark another notch onto the number of times that Lebowitz and Janover have collaborated with one another, as they have shared the stage with the Everyone Orchestra several times, both as players and conductors, as well as Janover has sat in several times over the past months with Lebowitz's full time band, the Animal Liberation Orchestra. The addition of Manring is something that dreams are made of. Manring is without question, one of the world's premiere bass players, and with a full rhythm section comprised of Chadha, Manring and Janover, the possibilities are endless.
Just as Janover has built quite a reputation lately, the 12 Galaxies has as well, quickly garnering itself a badge of being the most eclectic venue in the city. Hosting a diverse crowd almost nightly, 12 Galaxies is giving people a reason to get out to the Mission District and feel that they have a dependable resource of entertainment. They have hosted a slew of other super groups and all star jams that have opened the door to a whole new concept of music. Jamie Janover and Friends promises to be one of the more engaging and unpredictable nights of music offered this month in San Francisco and the 12 Galaxies is honored to play host to such a gifted group of musicians.
