Greetings High Sierra community! We're pleased to bring you the latest round of talented additions to our 2005 High Sierra Music Festival lineup. Bassist, bandleader, and persona extraordinaire Les Claypool will rock both the Grandstand Stage and one of our late night venues with his edgy, yet endearing, musical genius. Crowd-favorites Michael Franti & Spearhead return to lift your spirits and raise your consciousness, and expanding the realms of both the DJ and electronica scenes into one hypnotic beat-science is Conspirator, the new project established by Marc and Aron from the Disco Biscuits and featuring DJ Omen from Final Phaze NYC. Prodigious High Sierra veteran Chuck Prophet, who was alt before alt-rock was cool, brings rapier wit with guitar and songwriting skills to match and we predict that San Francisco duo Two Gallants, who channel early-twentieth-century blues, folkies such as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, and current indie punk will win more than a few new fans. Always unique, ThaMuseMeant will captivate you with their sweet old-timey songcrafting backed by virtuosic playing, and the JP Cutler Band, already developing a solid reputation among San Francisco music fans, will feature not only bandleader and nimble guitarist JP Cutler, but fellow festival performers Dan Lebowitz and Steve Adams of ALO.
As always, we've got more surprises in store! Stay tuned as the lineup continues to evolve. Confirmed thus far are:
