The Dead Covers Project Seeking Your Videos

NEW VIDEO TO BE FEATURED EACH DAY IN FEB
ON DEAD.NET AND GRATEFUL DEAD'S FACEBOOK PAGE

Grateful Dead puts a new spin on its classic "Playing In The Band" this winter as the group gives fans a chance to show off their musical chops with The Dead Covers Project. Right now, Dead.net is calling on fans to upload videos of them covering the Dead to www.youtube.com. Each video should be tagged "DeadCoversProject" to ensure it ends up on the Dead's YouTube channel.

All video submissions must contain a song either written by or recorded by the Grateful Dead. How that song is interpreted, however, is entirely up to those covering it. In other words, if you think the world is ready for your speed metal version of "Sugaree" or hip-hop interpretation of "Ripple", this is your chance to shine. All of the submitted videos will be available for viewing on the band's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/gratefuldead.

During the entire month of February, a new fan-made video will be highlighted every day on Dead.net as well as the Grateful Dead's Facebook page. Everyone is encouraged to participate by watching all the videos from The Dead Covers Project on YouTube and "liking" their favorites.

In March, five of the videos from the 29 highlighted in February will be selected to be featured across all of the Dead’s online properties. The artists in these videos will also be profiled on Dead.net as well as this year's edition of the Grateful Dead Almanac.
