Particle People at ACL by Jay Janner |
It's been a busy month for Particle, who recently celebrated their 500th performance at the legendary Burning Man festival in Nevada over Labor Day weekend. The band played two long sets starting after midnight and debuted a brand new song called "Mind Over Matter." The band then took a few weeks off until they made their way to the ever-evolving Austin City Limits Festival. Particle played in front of a huge audience on September 17th on the Heineken Stage. Later that evening the band played a sold out show at Antone's then quickly flew to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for a Brewery Festival then right back to Northern California the following day for Earthdance (Black Oak Ranch) in Laytonville.
Particle will be celebrating their Four Year Anniversary on Saturday, October 2nd at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. Previous Particle Birthday Bashes have featured special guests such as Lonnie Jordan of WAR, Robbie Krieger of The Doors, and Rob Wasserman. This year's party looks to raise the bar even higher! The band has been working hard on new material like the deep funk of "Swamp Soup" and the more house-flavored "Double Helix." Please show up early to catch the opener New Monsoon who are also hot from performances at Austin City Limits and Earthdance Festival. Their blend of African, Latin, Indian, funk, jazz and bluegrass is sure to get everyone dancing and in a festive mood for the evening.
In closing, drummer Darren Pujalet had some words for the Particle People... "We feel very fortunate to have grown at such a fast pace and we have been able to put it into high gear thanks to the love and support of our fans. We can't wait to see everyone on October 2nd!"
