A new dawn is approaching for Philadelphian five-piece Lotus. The new Lotus CD, Nomad (click for preview), will be unleashed on September 21 [Harmonized Records] marking the first time the public will hear Lotus in a studio setting. Lotus will take to the road in support of Nomad starting September 20 in NYC, and continuing to State College, Baltimore, Washington DC, and Philadelphia before heading west to Colorado, California, Oregon, the Midwest, and down South.
The album includes new songs and reworked live staples. "Recording Nomad we reinterpreted our compositions, often dramatically changing them from how we perform them live," says Jesse Miller (bass). "For a few tracks we broke down every section to its basic elements and rebuilt from the ground up."
"Lotus has always been a live band focusing on live energy. Going into the studio meant refocusing that energy into more concentrated and refined pieces. The songs maintain the pulse that fans across the country have grown to love, but with studio detail and depth. Driving house and trance beats are coupled with moments of grandiose serenity that provide the listener with the unstoppable urge to dance followed by aurally filling waves of relaxation. The CD includes bonus live MP3's, photo gallery, and exclusive live video footage.
The Nomad Tour is Lotus's second cross-country venture this year, and already the band is moving up into bigger rooms and theatres. Pick up Nomad and catch Lotus on the road this Fall.
