4-DISC LIVE ALBUM
RECORDED 40 YEARS AGO TODAY AT CARNEGIE HALL
Forty years ago today on October 11, 1971, Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention performed two marathon, full-length shows at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall. This is your ticket directly to the Vault, and to four CDs of the music made then. Fans can now have it for the first time since it was first performed live by FZ with Mark Volman, Howard Kaylan, Ian Underwood, Don Preston, Jim Pons & Aynsley Dunbar. The Zappa Family Trust announced the pre-sale today via their www.zappa.com website.
Headed by Zappa's widow Gail Zappa, the ZFT administers exclusively the extensive and iconic legacy of the Composer, Musician, Bandleader and Filmmaker. Zappa was posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. Frank Zappa, American composer, was born in 1940 and died in 1993.
As Gail Zappa says, "We tweaked and we tweezed and did everything possible to be certain this does not sound like a breakfast cereal gone mad somewhere in the Van Allen Belt. I am happy to say The Mud Shark Legend Continues."
