Steve Jobs: 1955-2011

Apple founder & technology icon Steve Jobs has passed away.

Apple revolutionized the music industry with the introduction of the iPod in 2001 and the iTunes Music Store in 2003.

A statement posted to the Apple website reads: "Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."

JamBase has been incredibly inspired by Steve's amazing vision, and we offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends & co-workers.

I was wondering why this was an article on JamBase, then I realized without him STS9 would still actually play instruments.

Steve, the world will not be the same without you in it. You single handedly changed the way people today communicate. I think President Obama said it best,

"The world has lost a visionary. And there may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented."

No one could ever dream of 'replacing' Steve Jobs. His memory will live on forever...in our hearts & the numerous devices he created.

Really made me reflect back to my childhood and the computer being introduced into my life. I remember the initiative that placed apples in all of our schools when I was in grade school. There was alot of Oregon Trail played thanks to you. Then came that Ipod and the world was changed forever. Just makes me wonder what else Jobs would have done if he was here for another 30 years.
