Widespread Panic's David Schools has paired up with J Mascis and The Fog, the band fronted by J Mascis, the former leader of Dinosaur Jr. The trio consists J on guitar and
vocals, Dave on bass, and Athens Georgia's own Kyle Spence (of The Tom
Collins Band) on drums. Dinosaur Jr was a seminal indie rock band that
influenced the likes of Nirvana and left behind a musical blueprint that
would be emulated by hundreds of bands that were later tagged as "grunge."

J Mascis and the Fog have released two albums to date, More Light (2000) and
Free So Free (2002). Past line-ups of the Fog have included Mike Watt
(Minutemen, fIREHOSE - Panic fans will surely remember the bands version of
the fIREHOSE song "Sometimes" on Don´t Tell The Band) and Ron Asheton
(Stooges).
Mascis and Schools first met up early in 2004 and the chemistry was right
for further collaboration. The first show featuring the new Fog line-up will
occur at the 40 Watt Club in Athens April 28, and tickets are on sale now.
In June Dave and J will head out on a short West Coast tour that will bring
the band from Seattle down to San Diego, hitting most major cities
in-between. The new Fog will likely record in late summer, and more details will
be posted as time goes along.
Don´t miss this opportunity to see Dave in full rock mode. For more info on
