Ever dream of having your band play a rock festival? PDX Rock Fest is giving local bands the opportunity to do just that by announcing the Native Noize Battle of the Bands. If chosen, the winning bands will take the stage at the PDX Rock Fest pre-show on 8/27. Capping off the night Saturday is PDX Guns N Roses tribute band Appetite for Deception leading up to a performance by Duff McKagan himself the next day. The contest is free to enter. Bands must complete a submission form and upload one photo and one MP3. Prizing includes:
Grand Prize – perform on PDX Rock Fest Main Stage at the pre-show on 8/27
Top 10 Bands – 10 Tickets to PDX Rock Fest ($500 value)
All Bands – 30 person guest list to pre-show on 8/27
Not in a band and still want to participate? Fans are also able to sign up here to become an official judge of the battle of the bands! Your votes will determine which artists make the top 10. As an added bonus, each vote you cast will serve as your entry to win a 4-Pack of tickets to PDX Rock Fest. Voting begins 7/25.
The final 10 bands will be heard and narrowed down to the chosen 4 bands by an advisory panel of music experts including Geoff Tate of Queensryche, Clint Lowery of Sevendust, Sam Loeffler of Chevelle, Dave Downey of Azoff Management, Tony Couch of In De Goot Entertainment, and Lea Pisacane of Atlantic Records. Winners will be announced 8/2.
