Lollapalooza is making a comeback! After a less than successful year in 1997 the roaming festival will be back this summer. Switching to a two-day format and branching out into some new genres, the ninth edition of Lollapalooza is setting the stage for an impressive festival.

It seems that Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell has taken a shine to the burgeoning "jam" scene through his Jammys involvement and work with Sound Tribe Sector 9 as opening DJ for a string of shows earlier this year. Farell will perform at Lollapalooza as DJ Peretz.

As of now Morrissey, Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, the Polyphonic Spree and String Cheese Incident are confirmed to play the main stage of the 2004 Lollapalooza tour. Other bands that are speculated to be on the bill include Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Le Tigre, and the Fire Theft

Stay tuned for Lollapalooza summer tour dates and complete lineup.
