HELP A STRANGER: WIN PRIZES

Strangers Helping Strangers and Strangefolk are pleased to announce that they will be holding non-perishable food drives at three upcoming concerts in April to benefit food shelters and charities in the communities where Strangefolk is scheduled to perform. The concerts are scheduled as follows:

Friday, April 2 | The Asylum | Portland, ME
Saturday, April 3 | The Bombshelter | Manchester, NH
Sunday, April 4 | Higher Ground | Burlington, VT

Strangers Helping Strangers (SHS) was formed in 1997 by Strangefolk fans that saw an opportunity to help those less fortunate by collecting non-perishable food at various Strangefolk concerts throughout the Northeast and donating it to food banks and charities in the cities and towns Strangefolk played. Since then SHS has collected nearly 20,000 items for charities from Maine to Delaware. In addition to working closely with Strangefolk, SHS has expanded to work with other bands such as the Assembly of Dust, Max Creek, Zen Tricksters, Scarecrow Collection, and The Unbelievable Meltdown. SHS offers incentives and prizes to those who donate at their events, including live CDs, merchandise, tickets to future concerts, and much more.

Over the past year, Strangers Helping Strangers has been working towards fully incorporating and gaining official 501c3 non-profit status. A benefit concert is scheduled for May 15, 2004 at Mexicali Blues Cafe in Teaneck, NJ in order to raise funds to turn this long-standing dream into a reality.
