This spring Particle will deliver their trademark high-energy, funktronic sounds to the masses with their debut studio album, Launchpad. The release features a diverse selection of tracks from the Los Angeles-based band's extensive live repertoire. It showcases the unique, dynamic sound that has propelled Particle into the national spotlight. Produced by Tom Rothrock (Beck, Coldplay, Foo Fighters), Launchpad will be released nationally March 23, 2004 on the Or Music label (Los Lonely Boys).

Though Launchpad is Particle's first studio effort, the band is no stranger to the road. Since forming in 2000, the group has toured relentlessly, both nationally and internationally, performing almost 500 shows since their inception. Particle's upcoming three-month tour will see them headlining large clubs and theatres in major markets including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Denver, and Chicago. Bass master Rob Wasserman will open the winter portion of the tour from February 2nd through the 23rd.
Along the way, Particle has amassed a large, passionate network of fans across the country, referred to as the "Particle People." The band has made notable appearances at prestigious music festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, New Orleans JazzFest, and South By Southwest. They have also collaborated with special guests that include the B-52's, the Doors' Robbie Krieger, Phish's Page McConnell, and Stefan Lessard of the Dave Matthews Band.
Particle has received a tremendous amount of critical acclaim and media attention throughout the past year. Relix voted Particle one of the "Best New Artists of 2002," while a handful of major outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, and the Washington Times featured the band, highlighting their distinctive sound and marathon performances. The band has also made appearances on CNN and popular radio shows around the country.
Particle consists of Eric Gould on bass, Charlie Hitchcock on guitar, Steve Molitz on keyboards, and Darren Pujalet on drums.
