By Earl Gardner
Lotus will usher in 2004 with the first New Year's Eve concert for the band. The show will be held in Greensboro, NC at the Artistika Cafe. The show is presented by Smile Fest Productions and Vision Touch Productions. The theme for the evening is "The Future is Now." It will explore past concepts of what people thought the future would be like.

Opening the show are regional bands Loop and Scarecrow. The evening will also feature chair massage, aromatherapy, a henna artist, a midnight toast, and prizes. Lotus will go on at 11:15 and play two full sets, bringing the party well into the New Year. The show is 18+ and tickets are only $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets will also be available through MusicToday ticketing at lotus.musictoday.com and at select outlets in Greensboro. For more details visit www.lotusvibes.com.

The New Year's Eve show tops off a big year for Lotus. It will be the 96th show of 2003, as well as the end of the year that saw Lotus sign with Harmonized Records, release the CD Germination, play shows from Maine to South Carolina, New York to Wisconsin, and everywhere in between, and share the stage with John Scofield, the Disco Biscuits, Umphrey's McGee, Jazz Mandolin Project, The Slip, Particle, and many more. With the rate of growth that Lotus has experienced over the last year, 2004 should be an even bigger one.
