WARREN HAYNES X-MAS JAM 2003 ANNOUNCED

By Adam George
Now in its 15th year, the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam has become a part of the holiday season for many in the South. Years ago at a small club in Asheville (45 Cherry St.), Warren and several other local musicians began to play together when they were all home for the holidays, the group decided to donate all proceeds to local charities. Over the years, organizations supporting Vietnam Veterans, AIDS charities and homeless relief groups have all benefited from the concert. About five years ago the group found a permanent recipient in Habitat for Humanity.

Started as a way to give back to the community that has fostered so many musicians careers, the Christmas Jam's goal is to take something that is free, like time, energy and music, and create a lasting impact while spreading a positive message of music and caring.

Over the last 15 years, musicians from all walks of life have joined Warren onstage as part of his annual Christmas Jam, this year the beat rolls on with another allstar lineup at the Asheville Civic Center. This year's performers include John Bell, The Funky Meters, Warren Haynes acoustic, Keller Williams, North Mississippi Allstars, Sonny Landreth and Stained Souls, as well as several special including Jeff Austin, Tinsley Ellis, Col. Bruce Hampton, Dave Johnston, Michael Kang, Keven Kinney, Edwin McCain and Dave Schools.

Pre-sale tickets for this event will be available this Friday November 14th at MuleTicketing, and on sale through Ticketmaster & @ The Civic Center Box Office on Monday Novemeber 24th @ 10AM.
