High on the Hog is pleased to announce a series of shows
in southern Louisiana, including stops in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and
Lafayette
from Friday, October 10th to Saturday, October 18th.
The four-piece traditional string band from Nederland, CO has been igniting
stages on their five-week fall tour, beginning with the Yonder Mountain String
Band's Kinfolk Festival last September 13th. JamBase reviewer Luke Rutherford said,
"(High on the Hog's) old-time sound, high-energy stage show and willingness to
engage with fans made High on the Hog my favorite supporting band at
Kinfolk."
The band then went on to wow crowds at the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival,
including an appearance with New Orleans roots-rock favorites Jeff and Vida.
After performing showcases at the International Bluegrass Music Association's
annual conference in Louisville, KY, and playing a string of shows in the Midwest,
the Hogs will make their way down the Mississippi through Memphis and Jackson
before arriving in Lafayette for a show with the Red Stick Ramblers on October 10th.
High on the Hog will perform live with Hazel the Delta Rambler on radio station
WWOZ Sunday,
October 12th. The band also will appear at the Mermaid Lounge in New Orleans
Wednesday, October 15th.
