Yo, Flaco! blurs the lines between traditional forms of hip-hop and jazz to
create a unique sound that resonates with influences such as Wes Montgomery,
Herbie Hancock, Tribe Called Quest, and The Roots. This nine-piece, Colorado based band is known for high energy live performances based in instrumental
and vocal improvisation.
The band's creative talent and uncompromising drive have helped to establish
a solid name for themselves as well as earning them such honors as Jim Beam's "Best
Unsigned Band In America" for 2000. Yo,
Flaco! was also one of the first unsigned bands to ever be nominated for an
American Music Award in 2002.
