Tobacco Road is one of New York’s best kept secrets – a laid back club to hear great live music where the staff is friendly and everybody knows your name.
Picking up where the beloved Wetlands left off, The Road welcomes live music five nights a week and eclectic events on the other two (comedy, open mics etc.).
Bands like Max Creek, Melvin Sparks, Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons, and Bernie Worrell regularly grace her stage and many a late night super-jam can be caught if you hit it at the right time. When Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi and Col. Bruce Hampton had the night off a few weeks ago, they spent it jamming at The Road.
Tobacco Road has a brand new sound system, new stage lights, and is fully equipped to make digital recordings (DVD) with three built-in cameras allowing for great live footage. They can make a state of the art audio or video for any artist playing on their stage. A clip featuring footage from a show is posted every week on www.tobaccord.com.
Photography and artwork by New York City’s finest music artisans, along with band merchandise are available in the Tobacco Road store, located inside the club and open every night.
