The Meltdown kicks off on Wednesday, June 25th in Nashville at Exit/In with Connecticut fusion-rockers Psychedelic Breakfast. Then the tour proceeds to Asheville, Chapel Hill, Atlanta, Charleston, Boone, Raleigh, and Harrisonburg (VA). The southern portion winds up in Richmond at Alley Katz on July 5th.
On July 8th Lotus plays in Bethlehem (PA) before heading west with stops in Pittsburgh, Goshen (IN), Niles (MI), Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, Iowa City, Chicago, and on out to Wisconsin to headline the opening night of Farmapalooza on July 24th. The pendulum swings back eastward with stops in Indiana and other states TBA before closing out the tour with a homecoming show at The Conduit in Trenton, NJ on July 29th.
“I am pumped to get out on the road for a while, meet new people, see some new places, and play a lot of music. We always build momentum when we are on the road for an extended period," says bassist Luke Miller. "There just seems to be an added spark in everything, immediately from the first show. I think it’s the excitement and rhythm of playing shows. It's a natural shot of adrenaline."
Lotus’s sound is heavily tempered by electronic music such as jazzy-house, tribal-trance, and atmospheric drum & bass. But the organic feel of the music pulsates throughout the mix. This synthesis of organic and synthetic worlds is simultaneously spiritual and energized. HighonSound.com says, “The sound is surreal, making you wanna shake your hands in the air and thank God you’re alive.” Lotus’s last Midwest tour attested to the band's growing buzz, as fans traveled from hours away to fill rooms in Chicago, Madison, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, and more.
Come, dance, and get sweaty with the Lotus Summer Meltdown.
