This weekend at The Bitter End Pub in Portland, Oregon, two very talented and versatile Northwest musicians will be performing with their respective bands in a special double-bill.

Scott Law has been able to challenge genre boundaries and make contributions in both acoustic and electric music for over two decades. A fixture on the Northwest music scene, he has performed, toured and/or recorded with Seattle's finest including Hanuman, Living Daylights, Tough Mama, Odd Men Out, Orville Johnson, members of Critters Buggin, Crack Sabbath, and many others. Scott also rounds out the Melvin Seals' Melting Pot when Melvin is on tour. He has produced eight full-length CD titles since 1992 as well as appeared on numerous others. From solo acoustic performances to raging electric solo flights, his grit and enthusiasm for great music radiates! He has toured nationally with the "acoustic free-folk funk" band Hanuman (1999-2001) and also performs throughout the Northwest fronting his own electric quintet, the Scott Law Band, or playing solo acoustic.

Playing everything from folk to bluegrass to jazz and funk, Jon Ostrom has a grasp on many styles that has led to gigs and albums with bands such as Higher Ground, Walleye and more recently, with the Louden-Mellow Project. The Jon Ostrom Band is a transformation from the LMP to reflect the fact that most of the music has been composed by Jon. His love for groove and jazz has led him to writing the majority of this most recent album. "I have been wanting to do the groove thing for so long and it has come together for all of us in this project," Jon says. "We are really able to stretch out over these jazz forms in more of a funk setting."
