The Marco Benevento & Joe Russo Duo have quickly been gaining a reputation as one of the hottest duos imaginable. These two men got their chops together playing a weekly gig in the Tap Bar (another room at The Knitting Factory) and are now more than ready to headline the main space at The Knit.

Over the summer up at the High Sierra Music Festival, I recall many a person saying that The Marco Benevento & Joe Russo Duo was the most impressive thing they had never heard of. And if you've ever seen these two guys tear into a set of music I'm willing to bet you will agree.
The upcoming gig on Tuesday December 17th has long been billed as "Marco Benevento and Joe Russo with Very Special Guests." It has just been announced who these "special guests" are. I think it's safe to say that Eric Krasno of Soulive and the one, the only DJ Logic are "special" and one can only imagine what they will add to the Russo and Benevento stew.
You can often tell which musicians are on the up and up by the company they attract. Using this as a measuring stick would lead one to believe that Benevento and Russo are really hitting stride. Musicians of Krasno and Logic's caliber don't waste their time or name on playing with people who aren't up to par, so rest assured this show will be smokin'! If you need any more motivation to check out this show, it is also Joe Russo's birthday, so get off that couch and shake it on down to The Knit.
