On Friday and Saturday, November 8th & 9th, the Boom Boom Room in San Francisco will celebrate its fifth anniversary. The only way to celebrate five years of bad-ass performances is to come up with an event that tops everything previously done… That event is the "FREQUINOX!"
This weekend, the Boom Boom Room will include the addition of Jay's Groove Grotto - a subterranean lost palace of funk, rare grooves and Go Go dancing…4,000 square feet of funk right below the main room. This is a private space which is honoring the Boom Boom
Room and its fabulous fans by including all Boom Boom Room Frequinox goers to
this funky private space. This throwdown is a tribute to San Francisco music
lovers and the Boom Boom Room faithful.
Get ready to party because the BBR celebrates its 5th anniversary in style.
The line-up of "non-stop" music includes the hottest funk from New
Orleans along with some of the most highly regarded super-groovers, bands and
DJ's from San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Featured on the Boom Boom Room main stage each night will be the all-star New
Orleans outfit Papa Grows Funk (Russel
Batiste, Jon Gros, JunYamagishi, Mark Pero, and Jason
Migledorf) for two huge, greasy sets each night. PGF expects to play host
and rhythm section to a full range of luminaries and special guests from the
Boom Boom Room Hall of Fame including Will
Bernard. Kicking off the main room festivities on Friday night will be Tea
Leaf Green. On Saturday catch Top Four
Flights featuring Radioactive of Spearhead.
Enhancing the musical experience and drawing the BBR into the musical future
will be DJ's Apollo & Vinroc (Triple
Threat), DJ Zeph and DJ Tobiwan.
All the DJ's will be spinning sets both in the main room at the BBR and downstairs
in the incredible Jay's Groove Grotto. The Groove Grotto will also be
the home to the light and projection show of DR. FX and the musical strangeness
of the Extra Action Marching Band. (For
those who were at the Mountain Air Festival, this outfit needs no further intro.)
The music will just keep on coming and the dance-charged booty grooves turned
out at this party are guaranteed to become something of legend.

for $20 each night. An "Event Pass" is available for $35 which gets
you into both nights. This will be heavy, this will be historic…and it
will go 'til 4:20am each night!
