Almost 2 years ago a brand new band from Los Angeles called Metric set sail underneath the Golden Gate Bridge for a late night post Phish boat party. Now as Particle, they have kept that late night scene a tradition throughout their relatively short tenure as a band and have toured constantly from coast to coast, bringing together a growing fan base of adventurous “Particle People” across the country. Its been an incredible and exciting journey for Particle, from their first west coast tour in 2001, to their epic late night gigs in Las Vegas, to the massive Bonnaroo Music Festival and their multi-festival tour this summer and fall.
Looking back at the last two months Particle was on the road for almost seven weeks. They played at many big festivals, toured the south for the first time, and returned for big runs of shows in the Northeast, Colorado and finished the tour in Texas at the Austin City Limits Festival. The highlight of the tour was during Particle’s 200th show anniversary in Burlington, when Page McConnell joined the band for an extended “Golden Gator.” Last night they played at the Jammy Awards with the B-52s and the late night party with moe. and many special guests.
At the end of a lengthy tour Particle is always psyched to come back home to Los Angeles to thank the family and friends who supported them from the very beginning. On Saturday, Particle will celebrate their 2 year anniversary as a band at the Knitting Factory West in Hollywood. It’s an All Ages show and the band promises more special surprises and guests and two big sets of music. Tickets are bound to sell out in advance so make sure to pick them up HERE or call the venue 323-463-0204. See you on Saturday!!
