Trotta Productions announces an exciting evening of high energy, improvisational music at the Wareham Theater in Manhattan, KS on Thursday, September 5th at 7 PM. The show features an all-star line-up with regional road warriors The Schwag and Sun Cured Red, with support from local favorites the Blakes.
Formed in 1992, The Schwag has taken its interpretations of the music of the Grateful Dead all over the country. Comprised of seasoned veterans of the Midwest’s music scene, this group is the most improvisational and spontaneous of Dead tribute bands around, and has headlined more than 1000 performances. The Schwag delivers high-intensity jams, sound, and fun which send listeners into frenzied dancing and eargasmic ecstasy.
Tulsa-based Sun Cured Red has scoured the Midwest with its tight, original blend of jazz, rock, bluegrass, and funk since 1998. Band influences range from Phish to Santana to J.J. Cale to Steely Dan. An inherent love of traditional roots music also permeates the band’s shows. The band is currently hard at work on its second album after achieving regional success with its 2000 independent release Neck.
Manhattan septet the Blakes will open the show with its lively mix of groove/jam.
The doors open at 6 PM, and the show starts at 7PM. The concert is 18 and over and tickets are 9 dollars at the door only. Alcohol will be available to those over 21. For more information visit SunCuredRed.com or TheSchwag.com.
