Uncle Sammy will be spending late August in an upstate New York studio recording tracks to appear on their first studio disc, which will be released later this year. Mike Keneally, legendary multi-instrumentalist, solo artist and sideman (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai) will be producing. "It's an honor to be working with someone as talented as Mike Keneally. He produced a CD that I played on a few years ago and it's amazing to work with him. We are thrilled to have him bringing his unique energy to the recording process. He is a true American treasure", says Uncle Sammy bassist Brian O'Connell.

The band will be fine tuning several road tested tunes as well as offering some unplayed material that will make it's debut on this disc as well as resurecting some old chestnuts. Mixing the sessions will be long time Uncle Sammy friend and former sound man, Justin "Shaggy" Zipperle, known to many Uncle Sammy fans as being responsible for many an amazing board mix on circulated shows. "This CD has been a long time coming and it's defintely been requested by fans for years now, we are itching to get going on it", says O'Connell. "We've worked closely with [recording engineer] Shaggy for years and he knows our sound very well. So the process of recording is going to be very relaxed."
