JEFF HANNEMAN BACKS OUT OF AUSTRALIAN DATES;
GROUP TO RECRUIT GUEST GUITARIST FOR
Jeff Hanneman, founding member and guitarist of the legendary Slayer, has been forced to back out
of the group's upcoming Australian tour (starting Feb. 26) after contracting a flesh-eating disease known as
rare disease destroys skin, fat and bone tissue. Hanneman is believed to have contracted the disease as a result of a
spider bite. Slayer will recruit a guest guitarist to fill Hanneman's slot during the Australian dates. The Onion AV Club is reporting that the guitarist is already recovering at
home after surgery. He is due to undergo follow-up procedures and is expected to make a full recovery.
