Widespread Panic: 25th Anniversary Plans

TOUR DATES AND DOCUMENTARY PLANNED

Widespread Panic
In an interview with Gary Graff of Billboard, Widespread Panic's Dave Schools laid out the group's plans for 2011 in celebration of their 25th anniversary.

The band does not plan on releasing new material in the new year, but Schools says he is sure that they will tour in support of Dirty Side Down, which came out in the Spring of 2010. Billboard also reveals that a documentary about the band is in the works, with filming having already begun over Halloween weekend in New Orleans. The documentary is set to feature both current and archival footage.

Says Schools, "twenty-five years is kind of a milestone to keep a band together through all the things we've been through. We've never had a chance to sit back and go, 'God, there's a lot of gigs under the belt.' So it'll be a good time to go, 'OK guys, we've made it a lot farther than anyone could have imagined'...and take a good, hard look at how we can take this further, how we can continue to evolve as a group of people, not only musically but spiritually and hopefully in a positive way."
