PERFORMANCE AT HALFTIME DURING USC VS. NOTRE DAME GAME

Ozomatli
Celebrated Los Angeles culture-mashers Ozomatli will be performing their song “Can’t Stop” with the University of Southern California Trojan Marching Band, during halftime of this weekend’s USC vs Notre Dame game. The seven members of Ozomatli will be collaborating with the 315 piece USC Marching band on the playing field at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Esteemed USC Music Director Dr. Arthur Bartner says of the collaboration, “I've know Ozomatli for several years. They're local guys, great musicians and many of them have a marching band background. I like their style of music: very broad and versatile combining Latin, funk, and rock. We're honored to share the field with them this Saturday." Ozomatli bassist Wil Dog Abers feels equally honored, adding, “as a elementary school kid attending 32nd street USC Magnet school I always dreamed of playing in the USC marching band... now I will get my chance. A dream come true for me.”

The USC Marching band band also has a longstanding history collaborating with music artists, beginning with their 1979 recording of "Tusk" with Fleetwood Mac. The USC Marching band has performed with System of a Down, WAR, George Clinton, and KC & The Sunshine Band at halftime. Most recently, USC Marching band performed with Radiohead at the 2009 Grammy Awards and with Coheed & Cambria at the Coachella music festival in 2010.

Tickets can be purchased through the USC Ticket Office.
