According to Newport Folk Festival promoters: "Unfortunately it's true. Justin Townes Earle sliced his hand
and needs 19 stitches, and he will not be able to play his 1st Newport Folk Festival.
However, the Folk Gods were indeed smiling. Exactly 45 minutes after receiving the news our good friends, Elvis Perkins In Dearland happened to
call us for tickets to come to the festival simply as fans. We said we could do one better...and asked them if they would
like to play, and they said YES!!!!
So, without further ado, please welcome Elvis Perkins In Dearland to the 2010 Newport Folk Festival Lineup!"
