Music Hits home |
Rounder Records is pleased to announce the release of Music Hits Home, out now. The album is a
compilation of songs by some of today's top national and local New England artists all brought together for one
purpose: to benefit Kevin Youkilis' charitable organization, Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids, a charitable
organization benefiting children around New England, and Christopher's Haven, a non-profit organization
dedicated to providing housing for families with children being treated for cancer.
This joyous and roots driven collection of music includes a unreleased live version of "Why I Am" by the Dave Matthews Band, the beautiful
and haunting live acoustic sound of "Everything Changes" by Springfield's own Staind and the rich, soaring voice
of acclaimed singer-songwriter Lori
McKenna. Music Hits Home embodies the passion and energy of Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids
founders
Kevin and Enza Youkilis with Phish's rousing cover of Boston's "Foreplay/Longtime," The Allman Brothers' "Black Hearted Woman," recorded live at Massachusetts' own
Comcast Center and folk icon Jesse
Colin Young's classic, but previously unreleased live version of "Get Together." Other artists who have
generously donated amazing music include Ernie and the Automatics, Will Dailey, Entrain, Stereogrove and the always-rambunctious Dropkick Murphys.
Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids was founded by Red Sox first baseman, Kevin Youkilis and his wife Enza Sambataro, and
is a non-profit organization. Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids provides financial and goodwill support to six grassroots,
well-deserving children's charities in and around New England, including: The Italian Home for Children,
Birthday Wishes, Nativity Preparatory School, Lovelane, Joslin Pediatric Health Services and Christopher's
Haven
