Heading to a major festival this spring or summer? Well then there is a good chance you will be hearing the “space porn funk” sounds of Particle whether its outside during the daytime or seeing them jam well into the morning hours at festivals like JazzFest in New Orleans this week. The band is in high spirits, coming off a successful nation-wide tour. The band made new friends along the way, getting to jam with Umphrey's McGee at several shows. The highlight of the tour was getting the opportunity to jam with John Medeski from Medeski Martin & Wood during their homecoming bash in LA. Two days later, Particle warmed up for festival season with a seven hour marathon show at the Area 51 Soundtest north of Las Vegas, NV. Particle is excited to share their sound in front of some of the biggest audiences they have ever played in front of. Here is some of the territory the band will cover through July…
JAZZFEST – NEW ORLEANS, LA | APRIL 26TH - MAY 2ND
The band will play four shows at JazzFest, starting on April 26th opening for funk guitar legend Melvin Sparks at The Parish @ House of Blues. The band has to pack up quickly because a few hours later they play one of the first ever “breakfast” shows at the festival, starting at 7am on April 27th at Blue Nile, following sets by DJ Harry and The Slip. Particle’s big bash of the festival is on May 1st with their KREWE OF PARTICLE PEOPLE PARTY at Jimmy's Music Club with DJ Harry and Netwerk: Electric and many special guests. You don’t want to miss this party, as it will go from 10pm until sunrise. Advance tickets are available on SCI Ticketing. The band will finish their JazzFest run with a show on May 2nd at Tipitina's French Quarter with Melvin Sparks and Global Funk Council.
BIG WU FAMILY REUNION – BLACK RIVER FALLS, WI | MAY 25TH
Particle will be the “late night” attraction Saturday night at this festival, starting at around 1am. Other bands at the festival include The Big Wu, Garaj Mahal, Umphrey’s McGee, The Motet, The Slip, Railroad Earth, and many others.
MOUNTAIN AIRE FESTIVAL – ANGELS CAMP, CA | MAY 26TH
After the band’s late night show at the Big Wu Family Reunion, they jump on a plane for Angels Camp, CA for the 5th Annual Mountain Aire Festival. Particle will play the side stage in between sets from Galactic and Trey Anastasio on the main stage.
LONG BEACH CHILI COOKOFF – LONG BEACH, CA | JUNE 9TH
The band will be playing a short set at 3:30pm on Sunday at this festival, before Robert Walter's 20th Congress and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe on the Acid Jazz Stage. Michael Franti and Spearhead will also be playing the Reggae Stage that day.
BONNAROO – MANCHESTER,TN | JUNE 21ST - 23RD
Particle is psyched to be playing the biggest jam festival of the year. Date and set time has not been determined yet, but will be shortly. Keep checking Bonnaroo.com for updates.

HIGH SIERRA MUSIC FESTIVAL – QUINCY, CA | JULY 4TH - 7TH
The band will be playing two sets at the festival, one headlining the Showcase Stage one night and one set in the Vaudeville Tent. Dates and exact times have not been determined yet for this festival as well, but will be announced soon. Keep checking the High Sierra for the band schedule.
BAJA BASH – SALSIPUEDES, MEXICO | JULY 26TH - 28TH
iDepinga! 3 days of camping and music on the coast of Baja, Mexico! Particle will be headlining on Saturday Night of this festival, along with other local Southern California Bands like Plump, PsydeCar, and Jonas.
