As Austin, TX's SpaceTruck plows through the barriers of labels that are handed down by press, club owners and fans alike, the Truck is teaming up with some of the best bands in and around Texas. Not only has the Truck started and fueled the Garagetronic Revolution, they are also spurring relations with great bands in a cross-genre cutting manner.
On Saturday April 27th, SpaceTruck will be teaming up with melodic indie-rockers and sonic experimenters El Gato at the Flamingo Cantina. El Gato's first full-length album, We’re Birds, has been called a masterpiece, “bringing down an avalanche of sound” (Dallas Observer). The album was produced by Mark Pirro (bass player for Tripping Daisy) and has nods towards the musical direction of Built To Spill, Grandaddy and, of course, El Gato's surrogate mother, Polyphonic Spree - a 24-member collective "that brings Brian Wilson's Teenage Symphonies to God from the studio to the dance hall." (Greg Beets, Austin Chronicle).
Be there as the world's of SpaceTruck and El Gato collide into an ethereal universe of sound and sonic sense. You will be rocked, rolled and leave happy, we assure you that!
