Just getting the word out on a truly monumental event going on in Boston on Saturday, April 27th. We are talking about an 11-band extravaganza at the DNA Labsa giant 1200-person loft space in the south end of the city.
The featured bands are John Brown's Body, Learned Evolution, Iluminada, Brothers Past, Plexus, Double Helix, The Mobius Band, J.T. & the Dirty Truth, The Tourist, and members of the Rustic Overtones. This lineup is primarily comprised of bands that lend themselves to a good dance vibe and feed off of the energy of the crowd. Many of them, such as Plexus and Learned Evolution, cross over elements of electronica while keeping it organic.
Several DJs are also featured at this event, mostly playing in a side room. Notables include Tony Humphries, a Ministry of Sound Resident, as well as Seishi & DJ Reazon, guys known for crossing over particularly well with bands.
Lights will be done by Matt Iarrobino of The Disco Biscuits and The New Deal fame. The visuals will be done by Toshi Hoo, who will mix them live to sync up with the bands. There will be four screens of visuals. Props such as candles and mirrors will be provided by the legendary Boston underground crew the Regulars.
This is the live event you have been waiting for, one with high energy bands that not only will get you moving but take you on a head-trip with their jams. The festivities are from 2 pm to 2 am, and tickets are a mere $15. Beer and wine will be available to those of age. The venue is located at 1011 Harrison Ave. in Boston. Tickets are available at JamBaseTickets.com.
