Music lovers have a new mid-Atlantic destination. Bromberg's Big Noise in the Neighborhood presented by AAA is a
day-long outdoor festival hosted by guitar legend David Bromberg. American music visionary and Grammy winner John Hiatt, bluegrass innovator
Sam Bush and roots-heavy
jam band Railroad Earth will
play to thousands along the scenic Christina Riverfront. Bromberg, Jorma Kaukonen and Angel Band complete the bill, which
will be broadcast in its entirety on Philadelphia-based public radio station WXPN (88.5 FM) and online at www.wxpn.org.
Bromberg's Big Noise in the Neighborhood presented by AAA will be held at Justison Landing Park, a mere two
blocks from I-95 in downtown Wilmington. Patrons will have access to craft beers from Delaware brewers Dogfish
Head and Twin Lakes, wines by Wente Vinyards and food from Harry's Seafood, Orillas Tapas Bar & Restaurant,
Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, Big Fish Grill and Fat Rick's BBQ. Family-friendly activities include a children's tent
operated by the new Delaware Children's Museum. Performances run from noon to 8 p.m.
Two dollars of every ticket will be donated to Haitian earthquake relief efforts, through the Art Creation Foundation
for Children (www.artforhaitianchildren.org),
which is based in Jacmel, Haiti and the Benjamin Harris Josephson Fund (www.overlookfoundation.org), which sends health care workers to
disaster areas.
May 14 Kick-off party: Light Up the Queen Foundation and WXPN (88.5 FM) present a fun-filled night of
music with legendary New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian Big Chief Monk Boudreaux & the Golden Eagles. Admission is
included in the Super VIP ticket for $150 and includes VIP seating at the festival.
The Queen Theatre: Fifty years ago, the lights went out and the doors closed on the majestic Queen
Theatre in downtown Wilmington. Today, the Light Up the Queen Foundation is thrilled to announce that the Queen
is ready to rise up and reclaim her former glory—but not without your help.
