Southern California's EDC is a combination of musical sets by top-tier electronic musicians from around the globe on five stages; large scale art installations by a selection of artists whose works have also shown at Coachella and/or Burning Man; high end light and sound production; carnival rides; and a surreal assortment of performers who create a carnival atmosphere. Last year’s event (its first as a two-day festival since it began in 1996) drew over 135,000 attendees: 45,000 on Friday (June 26, 2009) and 90,000 on Saturday (June 27, 2009), with the latter figure ranking EDC as one of the largest single day attended music festivals in the U.S.
While a full schedule has not been announced yet, there are some bigger names are scheduled:
Friday: Moby (DJ Set), Deadmau5 Live, Armand Van Helden
Saturday: Armin Van Buuren, Groove Armada (DJ Set), MSTRKRFT
