East coast funksters the Boston Horns will perform two Boston area shows on the upcoming 4.20 weekend. Boston residents can catch the groove of the Horns on Friday, April 19 at Johnny D's in Somerville, and folks outside of Boston can join the 4.20 celebration in Acton at the Acton Jazz Café the following night.
Since forming in late 1999, Boston Horns have become one of the premier acts in the Northeast. Former members of the legendary Heavy Metal Horns, Henley Douglas, Jr. (sax) and Garret Savluk (trumpet) lead this six-piece funk ensemble with a supporting cast of phenomenal veteran musicians. Boston Horns feature groove oriented original instrumental and vocal music, blending R&B with old school funk, soul and jazz.
Over the past year Boston Horns have performed at a wide range of venues and festivals. Highlights include the Regatta Bar, Ryles, Johnny D’s, Berklee Performance Center, Lowell Winterfest, and the Mountain Boogie Music Festival. Boston Horns have been invited to perform at the Discover Jazz Festival 2002 in Burlington, VT. The heart and soul of this music transcends genre. Boston Horns always heat up any scene with their unique brand of funk!
Check out some great local flavor this 4.20 weekend in Boston and beyond with the Boston Horns.
