SURFER BLOOD WILL EMBARK ON A 2-WEEK U.S. TOUR THIS SUMMER
JOINING THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART AND HOORAY FOR EARTH
Surfer Blood |
Surfer Blood's critically
acclaimed debut record Astro Coast is an album's worth of catchy, summery indie songs that even
the most hook-laden power pop band would rightfully be jealous of. Still in their early twenties, Surfer Blood has already
appeared on late night television and has received rave reviews from publications such as Spin, Rolling
Stone, Vanity Fair among many others. The New York Times spoke highly of Astro Coast by calling it, "An endearing mélange of 1950s chord progressions, Afropop guitar filigree and
grunge buildups heading for power-pop choruses." While online tastemakers Pitchfork called the album
"irresistibly catchy." Astro Coast is out now on Kanine Records. Surfer Blood will release a limited Record
Store day 7" for "Take It Easy" live featuring Marnie Stern. In May, Surfer Blood will release a "Swim" 7" featuring the Allen of
Baroness remix and will tour the U.K.
The Pains of Being Pure at
Heart is touring in support of their new single, "Say No To Love" (Slumberland Records). Having just
returned from a month overseas, hitting Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, we find the Pains planning the recording of
the LP follow up to last year's critically acclaimed self-titled debut. The single is due to hit iTunes and stores on
June 8.
