OM Trio
Sail Inn | Tempe, AZ | 03.27.02

At the Sail Inn in Tempe last night, OM Trio payed the Phoenix area a visit it won't soon forget. With constantly changing tempos and an amazing drumming backbone, OM created melodious grooves that kept everyone dancing all night.

Several people in the crowd were already hooked as they raved about the last show OM played in Tempe, at a jazz club called Beeloe's. And there were plenty of newcomers ready to experience some great music as well.

OM Trio took the stage at about 10:45 and didn't let up until 12:30 or so, when the bar's curfew forced them to stop. Their music roller-coastered between fast and furious to spacey and mellow, often very quickly, thanks to the incredible drumming skills of Ilya Stemkovsky.

What kept the music so interesting was the texture laid down by Brian Felix, using his array of keyboards. Pete Novembre's bass notes weaved in and out of Brian's layers, all while matching Ilya's drumbeats.

This band is creating a lot of buzz wherever it plays, and the band members couldn't be a nicer group of guys. I urge you to check them out when they come close to your town.
