Mr. Holland's O-Face

Widespread Panic was the heat the last 2 days. As for last night, The Megahorns were in and out all set, plus a little Michael Jackson after the New Years countdown was a dirty dance party. It ended up being just short of a 5 hour show. I would absolutely give it a listen if I were you.

Mule Year's Eve notes:

At the end of "Listening to You," Warren smashes his guitar into one of his amp cabinets several times until it knocks over, a la Pete Townshend at Woodstock.

Then, for the encore, and I KID YOU NOT, Warren plays an upside-down, left-handed Strat - just like Jimi (well, opposite but same).

EPIC!!!

Mule wins IF you're a Gov't Mule fan. It's pretty subjective. I'd still rather see Phish, STS9, Umph, TLG, or Furthur before I'd want to see Gov't Mule. But that's my opinion.

You'd want to see Umph and Tea Leaf Green before Mule? That's like wanting to eat hot dogs (Umph) or cat food (TLG) instead of a nice filet mignon (Mule).

Glad my flake friends pussed out on the Mule show and I missed out on that epicness. Damnit.

I dont know about anybody else, but who here was at furthur in SF??? Considering im 27, I did not have the pleasure of seeing the boys in their true form, but this show kicked everybody's asses. I mean these guys are 60+, and they played for over 4 hours on NYE. Check youtube for the NYE drop, I bet nobody did what furthur did ;) Shakedown opener, Help slip frank 2nd set, time, after midnight, cryptical>born x eyed>other one>cryptical and just when so many roads wants to put you to sleep, out comes st stepen>the eleven>NFA??? man folks, gov't mule looks sick on paper, but give this show a listen. No disappointment to be found here.
