Maserati, LCD Soundsystem & The Juan MacLean Drummer
Gerhardt (Jerry) Fuchs Dies In Tragic Accident

Maserati, LCD Soundsystem and The Juan MacLean drummer Gerhardt "Jerry" Fuchs died in a tragic accident on Sunday. After attending a benefit party in Brooklyn, Fuchs was stuck on an elevator between the fourth and fifth floors. He was attempting to jump from the stalled elevator to the fourth floor opening when his jacket got tangled up and he missed the ledge, falling to the bottom of the elevator shaft. He was pronounced dead at Bellevue Medical Center. He was 34.

The following note is from the Maserati's website:

It is with overwhelming sadness that we bid farewell to our drummer and dearest friend Gerhardt (Jerry) Fuchs. Jerry died in a tragic accident early this morning (Sunday, November 08, 2009) when he fell down an elevator shaft near his home in Brooklyn, NY. We are humbled to have been able to create music with you for all these years, Jerry. You will be missed more than words can express. We love you, bro.
