Richmond Fontaine Prep For The U.S. Release Of New Album
We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River
Richmond Fontaine |
The little known but well respected Portland, OR based alt-country act Richmond Fontaine will release their eighth album, We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River, in the U.S. next month. The LP was produced by long time collaborator JD Foster (Calexico, Richard Buckner, Laura Cantrell), who was at the helm for the last three albums. Multi-instrumentalist Paul Brainard steps in with pedal steel, trumpet and piano while the core lineup of Willy Vlautin (guitars, vocals), Sean Oldham (drums, vocals), Dave Harding (bass) and Dan Eccles (guitars) remains.
We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River has already hit stores in Europe and will arrive on North American shores in September. Several notable British music magazines are already calling it one of the best albums of the year.
Uncut - "Raw, autobiographical brilliance" 5 stars
Q - "Eighth and best album from Oregon four-piece" 4 stars
