Dan Deacon Announces Solo Fall Tour Dates

Baltimore's musical mad scientist Dan Deacon has spent most of 2009 doing things on a large scale - he toured with an ensemble ranging from 13 to 17 people, played large festivals like Lollapalooza, did the Round Robin tour with No Age and Deerhunter (aka No Deachunter) and even collaborated with an entire marching band (Providence's What Cheer? Marching Band, who recently joined him in Chicago).
Deacon plans on taking things a bit back to basics in the next few months with a slew of fall dates that will feature him performing solo. Deacon's live show truly is something to behold. He commands the crowd into performing dance acts and other participatory activities. He is known to split the dance floor in two, creating two teams, then have the two sides elect an individual who will act as dance competitor for the team. Dance battles ensue along with melee and general merriment.
