At long last it’s finally happening. Monte Montgomery, is about to embark on his first ever West Coast tour. Guitar wiz Monte, drummer Phil Bass, bassist Chris Maresh, and percussionist Mikel Urdy routinely play to packed houses in Austin, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Chicago, and New York. However, the band is enthusiastic about turning left out of Texas and venturing into new territory. Monte and his band are playing ten gigs over a 19-day span giving music lovers in the westerly time zones multiple opportunities to catch this extraordinary gifted performer in action. As great as he sounds on recording, Monte Montgomery must be seen in person to truly appreciate how incredibly gifted and innovative he is.
Whether he’s playing a catchy pop-rock creation, singing a tender love ballad, or blasting a passionate, hard-hitting, mind-boggling, ten-fingered solo on that beat up Alvarez Yairi featured in the current issue of Acoustic Guitar World Magazine, Monte’s music will touch your soul and send you reeling through a myriad of emotional gyrations. No one knows this better than his staunchly devoted fans that organized a successful donation drive to subsidize the West Coast tour and offset the financial losses Monte was expecting to endure. Western Montiacs are ecstatic over the opportunity to see Monte perform on their own turf and help expose thousands of prospective fans to his greatness. “The Montiacs are my crazed, fanatical fans who are way over the top supportive of me and I’m grateful to have them,” declared Monte during a recent interview regarding the West Coast tour. Booking agent, Armand Sadlier of Vision International, remarked, “I’ve never seen anything like it in my 27 year in the industry. Monte is as blessed to have the Montiacs as he is gifted.”
It must be incredibly heart-warming knowing that the trip is heavily supported by adorning fans that have a vested interest and faith that the much deserved fame and prosperity are close at hand. One thing is certain and that is Monte and the band will play their hearts out at each stop on the tour. Simply put, Monte Montgomery is a “must see” performer that will definitely live up to the hype.
