Devendra Banhart Announces Completion Of His Sixth Album

Devendra Banhart
Gypsy rocker Devendra Banhart has recently completed work on his sixth full length album. It was recorded in the sleepy village of Bolinas, on the Northern California coast, far away from distractions and other interruptions that could hinder the recording process. The album was co-produced by Banhart and Paul Butler (of U.K. outfit A Band Of Bees).

The basic recording lineup was Devendra on vocals and guitar, Noah Georgeson on guitar and backing vocals, Greg Rogove on drums and backing vocals, Luckey Remington on bass and vocals and Rodrigo Amarante on guitar and backing vocals. All the musicians involved played a part in arranging the songs that were recorded.

The album will be released Fall of 2009 and will be on a new label, with Banhart having departed from the XL Recordings.

While there is only one tour date on Devendra's itinerary (08/27/09 House of Blues Anaheim, CA) the tour-friendly musician will no doubt announce more dates in the foreseeable future. We'll keep you posted.
