Jerry Joseph is a warrior. His battles with addiction, years of self-destruction and broken dreams have all been well documented, but instead of buckling under the pressure Jerry sucked it up and wrote songs. He's been on the road ever since, and he's one of the best live performers you are likely to ever see. It doesn't matter if it's solo, with his Jackmormons, Stockholm Syndrome, Denmark Veseys as a duo with Dave Schools (Widespread Panic) or any other of the various configurations he fronts. Those in The Biz have been aware of Jerry's genius for a long time (Widespread Panic being the easy touchstone for all the songs they've covered) but he's never received the accolades he so greatly deserves.
Like they say, one man's trash is another's treasure and because Jerry Joseph continues to do his thing under the radar of the Big Time, you get to see him in intimate bars. If the music business was a "fair" place, based on "talent" Jerry would be playing for thousands, instead we get our minds blown with a few close friends. Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons are setting out for a West Coast tour on May 24 in Portland, OR, from there he'll head down the coast hitting the major (and not so major) markets on his way to SoCal where the tour ends on June 6 in Pioneertown, CA.
