Explosions In The Sky
As we reported earlier, to celebrate their ten-year anniversary this summer, Explosions In The Sky will be playing four shows with dates in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago as well as a rare hometown performance in Austin. Today we learned that special guests scheduled to play the anniversary shows include: No Age (Los Angeles), Jason Lytle of Grandaddy (New York), Octopus Project (Austin), Eluvium (Los Angeles), Constantines (New York), and The Wooden Birds (Austin). Following these dates, EITS will occupy the special guest slot themselves, playing Broken Social Scene's annual Toronto Island festival on 7/11, before heading to Europe in September.

6/30 New York, NY @ Central Park Summer Stage with Constantines
7/02 Chicago, IL @ Congress Theatre with Jason Lytle (of Grandaddy)
7/04 Austin, TX @ Stubb's Waller Creek with The Octopus Project and The Wooden Birds
7/11 Toronto, ON @ Toronto Olympic Island with Broken Social Scene, Apostle of Hustle and Beach House, and more
9/09 Antwerp, Belgium @ Ampitheatre Riviernhof
9/11 Dorset, UK @ End of the Road Festival

i love this band!

and if you've never heard of them, i've actually thought that they would be a great place to start for my friends who can't stop listening to phish and the dead for 2 seconds.

no disrespect to them, but if you think a 10 min. song can't be good unless they jam it out, you should really check these guys.

they don't exactly JAM; it all has an organized nature and feel, but it's still exceptional instrumentals.

i bought tickets to the stubbs show.

stubbs is my favorite place in the world, and it will be full of complete amazement july 4th. i mean, explosions in the sky on july 4th, (i'm sure pun intended), in their hometown at the best live venue in the country? yes please :D

never seen these guys...have heard a lot about them...but they never play show in Ga or any of the festivals I go to...hope to check a show out soon b/c this shit is tight

Do these guys play the opening song on the NBC show "Friday Night Lights" ??? If so, they are dope and I need to check them out
