Avett Brothers: Album/Tour

The Avett Brothers
Coming off a set of highly acclaimed shows at SXSW and an opening set for Widespread Panic in Alabama this past weekend, North Carolina-based rock band The Avett Brothers hit the road for a huge cross country tour that wraps-up on July 25 in Myrtle Beach. This 48 show schedule includes eight supporting dates with Dave Matthews Band. The Brothers will also be stopping at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Sasquatch! Music Festival, and the Forecastle Festival.

"They're traveling troubadours of the inner workings of the heart and head, these men in their stage suits wielding banjos with the force of weapons," says Paste Magazine. "They communicate all the gray areas and intricacies thereof through simple sonic textures; bluegrass strings join keys, kick drums, sweet crooning and guttural screams."

The Avett Brothers are currently featured on the March/April cover of American Songwriter magazine talking for the first time about their upcoming American Recordings debut (and tenth studio album), I and Love and You slated for an August 11 release and produced by Grammy award winning Rick Rubin.

The story of The Avett Brothers has been told by word of mouth until now. Come witness what thousands have been loyally following and speaking about for years...

Awesome. An extensive tour and they are completely missing New England. The music scene here is starting to get piss poor.

^^^ Love the Avetts, and damn right djschusta, where's the New England love? Looks like a NYC run for me.

It's too bad, I really want to check them out. Heard such great things and I love the studio stuff! I can't get down to NYC. They will come around though; we just have a serious lack of good shows here right now, especially at outdoor venues.

Great timing on Sunday. I won't miss a minute of the Avetts and then Earth, Wind & Fire or Etta James. I may have to split the last time slot between Congo Square and the Gentilly Stage (which both neighbor the Fais Do Do Stage). Well done, Quint.

From my office, I can see that the tents are all getting to the Fairgrounds. See you for the beginning on Friday.
