The Dead Weather | 04.14 First Show for New Band

Its not that "Even when Jack White is on drums, hes out in front." its the only way to Jip people into listening to this crap...hes a sloppy guitarist and an even sloppier drummer.

i personally love jack white and think this new stuff is pretty funky. i'll even go far enough to say i think he's one of our modern generation's guitar heroes. i'll agree and say he's sloppy but so was kurt cobain but he also revolutionized the music scene. you don't have to be a mad shredder to be a great influence. but i do have to say jack don't you have enough "projects"? settle down with one that you really like and let it blossom.

Why would you need a second band and second instrument when your first band and first instrument are so bad?

Really people?? Jack white is an amazing guitarist and has a cool as voice. the white stripes are one of the coolest bands invented jack shreds the blues.. The racounters rocked it.. These guys ^^ don't really sound very good in the videoss. questionable but White Stripes are chilly melon nice and smooth with some rock in your sock.

The guy just likes to play music. May it be on guitar or drums, somebody likes what he's doing because he keeps getting booked for gigs. If you don't like it don't listen to it. Who says you have to be a one band man. Look at everybody else in the "jam scene", everyone's got a side project.(All memmbers of Phish, all members of The Dead, All String Cheese, Les Claypool, Warren Haynes especially, STS9, Disco, etc. The list keeps going.)

well i actually did watch the videos before posting and i still don't understand the appeal of jack white.. and i do not think he has a "cool voice" because anybody could do that. i know i can't sing so i don't try, but this guy just doesn't give up.

To each his/her own. Personally I like the sloppy guitar playing and off-beat lyrics. Some of his bands are better than others, but at least he is playing. He wouldn't be playing with these goth-birds if it wasn't fun.

The spotlight on the drummer is a little ego weird isn't it????

its hard to sing and play guitar without being sloppy. IM NOT comparing the two but Hendrix played sloppy when he sang, but was possibly the greatest guitar god of all time

Sounds good to me. Great blues riffs and the lead singer is pretty nasty.

Jack is God ,Great in any one of his many bands.nothing sloppy about that.

Ive seen jack every year since 05, and I can understand why you might not like him, but I personally think he's great. I know I'm going to get destroyed for this, but I love the Dead, but seriously, they're all like 70 years old. If you'd rather listen to washed up old men without one of their most prominent members, then go ahead, but don't bash anything new in the meantime because its not as polished and listenable as the old dead tapes from '70 that you're smoking shit to.

not sure yet on the dead weather, but did anyone else catch the last terminal 5 raconteurs show? that night they harnessed an energetic and pure and clean rock style that i haven't heard much since...

This may sound okay in the future, but at this point the quality is scant at best. Would love to see this project evolve. pretty tough to fu** w/the Raconteurs though...

white is god ,the dead is not some wash up old men ,they are EVERYTHING THERE is today so don't forget them.There would be none of the seen today without them .

I really know nothing of the white stripes or that dude, and either way the music on those videos kinda sucks.

the quality of these videos isn't doing it for me, but regardless of your opinion on this band or his others (which, if any of you bashing honestly listened to with open ears, would find something completely badass about, ie: white stripes, raconteurs) if you don't know who that is playing on the p.a. before they come on stage in the first video, your credentials don't check out and your opinion is void. please move on to the verbose lotus article about how to achieve a transcendental orgasm through a potent blend of mediocre cliche "jam-tronica" slathered generously with cheesy pseudo-intellectual religious similies served on a fresh spring mix of pretentious non-objective journalism.....put that on your tongue and flip schwartzbach

A critic is one who can't do...what is it with people, you don't want evrything to sound the same...do you? If you don't get Jack White, thats fine..but if you say he sucks...well then post a link to all the amazing music you're writing...Jack White is the sxxt, and if you ever get the chance to see the Raconteurs you'll see and hear what he's all about.

Plus, great music doesn't always sound good when you first hear it...sometimes it needs to grow on you a bit...but you simple axx people probably won't ever understand any of this!

i will not vouch for the kills or queens of the stone age but i do know that jack white IS one of the greatest guitar players with some of the best influences...... all in all one of the greatest musicians of today's music world and he should go ahead with any projects he wishes. Why people want to tell someone what music they can and cannot make is by far the craziest idea ive heard yet!!!
